Equilibrium Manages ProMetic BioTherapeutics Inc.' Laboratory and Office Expansion
Rockville, MD (August 25th, 2014) --- Equilibrium, a design-build firm, specializing in life sciences facilities, announced it has recently coordinated the logistics for ProMetic BioTherapeutics Inc.' (“PBT”) expansion. The expansion brings PBT to approximately 23,500 square feet of laboratories and administrative support space, in Rockville, Maryland.
ProMetic BioTherapeutics Inc., which utilizes a proprietary novel technique for purifying protein products from plasma, was in need of more space for organic growth. “We are pleased with the support provided by Equilibrium in regards to our expansion and operational needs. Their design and construction expertise have proven to be very useful”, stated Ricardo Bertolo, ProMetic's Director of IT.
This project is one of many, in which Equilibrium has served as Program and Construction Manager for ProMetic. According to Jason Rifkin, President of Equilibrium, “We are delighted to develop our relationship with ProMetic and to be able to add value to their operations”.
ProMetic BioTherapeutics Inc. Equilibrium Assists MagBio Genomics and Mawi DNA Technologies with Relocation from Innovation Center to New Facility
Rockville, MD --- Equilibrium, a life sciences design-build firm, was retained by MagBio and Mawi. These companies were recently presented with the unpleasant news of having to vacate Montgomery County's Shady Grove Innovation Center.
This project, although small, allowed Equilibrium to assist two, small companies, with saving critical capital. In addition, we were able to utilize environmentally sustainable practices, by removing lightly used materials from three different facilities and relocate them to MagBio/Mawi's facility, for future use. The companies intend to take this environmental stewardship to another level, by retrofitting used light fixtures to LED, thereby reducing the energy consumption of the facility.
